Taralyn & Scott’s Stratford Country Club Wedding
I first met Taralyn and Scott when I photographed their friends’ wedding in Haliburton in August 2018. They seemed like the sweetest couple, so I was super excited when Taralyn emailed me the following weekend and asked me to capture their big day in August 2019!
August 31, 2019 finally came, and I arrived at the Stratford Country Club just before 2pm. I got started on documenting all the beautiful details and decor before it was time for photos of the groom and his groomsmen.
Around 2:30 pm, the bride and her bridesmaids arrived, so the boys went inside while we took some photos of the girls.
I was so glad we had time to get a few bridal portraits of Taralyn, her gorgeously colourful bouquet, and of course their little pup!
Taralyn and Scott wanted to see each other for the first time during the ceremony, but they did get a chance to hold hands for a moment without seeing each other before the big moment came!
At 4:00 pm, their outdoor afternoon ceremony began.
This was the first and only wedding I’ve ever photographed where the groom whispered his vows to the bride privately. It was such a romantic and intimate moment that the two shared together.
I have to take a quick second to shout out Taralyn and Scott’s amazing officiant Jodi Hall of Something New Officiant. I loved working with her so much that we’ve chosen her to be OUR wedding officiant!
One of my favourite parts of a wedding day is the hugs after the ceremony.
We had time to take a few family photos and couple’s photos before the whole wedding party came together.
Before the reception began, I got to explore the grounds of the Stratford Country Club with the bride and groom.
At 6:00 pm, it was time for dinner and speeches!
I had to sneak the bride and groom outside for a few sunset photos during dinner.
Around 7:30 pm, it was time for the couple’s first dance followed by the mother-son dance.
After that, it was party time! Taralyn and Scott had set up a photo booth, so I spent the rest of the night taking hilarious group photos there and running over to the dance floor for dance shots, too.
At 9:30 pm, just before it was time for me to head out, the bride and groom cut their cake.
I stole them away one last time for this beautiful night shot before 10pm.
Thank you so much to Taralyn and Scott for choosing me to capture your day! And a shoutout to my fellow vendors for the day:
