Monica & Ken’s Willow Springs Winery Wedding
Monica reached out to me way back in June of 2019 about her and Ken’s September 2020 wedding. After meeting up with Monica and her sister at a local Starbucks (yum), we scheduled her and Ken’s engagement session for the fall. They chose one of my favourite spots: Hilton Falls in Milton, Ontario as their engagement session location and we lucked out that it was the first snowfall of the year! I could tell right away that these two were my ideal subjects: full of giggles!
A lot changed between November 2019 and September 2020, but Monica and I stayed in communication to come up with alternate plans for their wedding day. They ended up scaling their day down to just their ceremony and their tea ceremony at Willow Springs Winery - and it could NOT have been more gorgeous and intimate. I arrived at the beautiful outdoor wedding venue in Stouffville, Ontario just before 9 am on September 20, 2020. I started with some detail photos of the elegant setup and décor.
The groom and I were the first ones to arrive at Willow Springs, so I helped him put together their adorable flower-filled wedding arch!
Once we were let inside, we did some getting-ready photos of the groom and then the bride.
Next, it was time for one of my favourite parts of a wedding day… the first look! Willow Springs had so many picturesque locations for photos, and we chose the sweetest little bridge for Monica and Ken’s first look.
After their first look, we snapped a couple of quick photos of the bride and groom before Monica headed back inside to await the ceremony.
The groom and I headed over to the beautiful outdoor ceremony spot right next to a gorgeous pond and captured a few family photos on the way. The sun came out just in time!
Around 11:30 am, their ceremony began.
Right after they tied the knot, Monica and Ken went to cut their cake!
They then went into a speech to their loved ones in attendance.
We did a few family/friend photos while their cake was served to their guests.
We then set off to explore the beautiful grounds of Willow Springs Winery for some couple portraits of the bride and groom.
Once we were satisfied with their couple portraits, Monica changed into her red dress for their traditional Chinese tea ceremony!
The last hour of my time with Monica and Ken was spent doing bride and groom photos with the bride in her red dress!
I want to thank Monica and Ken SO much for choosing me to capture their beautiful day! And a big shout-out to Willow Springs Winery for their hospitality :)
