Justine & Tim’s New Brunswick Wedding
Justine and I first met while we were both attending Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. She was part of the music program, while I was in drama - so our circles ran very closely. When a mutual friend of ours from university moved to Toronto, I did a boudoir session with her, and she loved the experience. So when Justine was looking for a wedding photographer, Crystal suggested me! I was so excited for the opportunity to travel back home for a wedding - my mom and I decided to make a road trip out of it!
August 3, 2019 arrived, and I showed up for 11am at Tim’s father and stepmother’s gorgeous property which included a newly built barn that housed their wedding reception! The whole place was beautifully decorated to display their love of music and each other.
In the morning, Justine and Tim opened gifts they had given each other. Tim’s gift to Justine was a beautiful song that he wrote and recorded with the help of some of her music students. It was just Justine and me out on the balcony as she listened, crying and laughing.
Justine’s gift to Tim was a pocket watch that had very special significance: when Tim’s parents were married, his father Frank could not wear a wedding ring due to his job, so his bride, Natalie, gave him a pocket watch on their wedding day. Years later, when Frank changed positions, he got a wedding band. That same wedding band was the one Tim got on his wedding day. Since Tim’s mother Natalie passed away a few years ago, the pocket watch and wedding band were ways to keep Natalie with them on their special day.
I snapped a few more moments of Justine and her bridesmaids getting ready before heading off to the church down the road, around 3pm.
At 3:30pm, their ceremony began at the Bath Meeting House in Bath, New Brunswick with Tim’s father, Frank, as their officiant!
After the ceremony, we all headed back to the house for some family portraits. Then it was time for the wedding party photos!
We drove down the road to use this cool train for a background before walking down to the beach.
Next, it was time for the bride and groom portraits! We snapped a couple on the beach before heading to the top of Salmon Hill.
Dinner began back at the barn around 6pm. Justine and Tim’s family and friends delivered some moving speeches throughout the night.
As the night went on, Justine and Tim began their first dance around 8pm to the song “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton.
The bride and her father then shared a dance before it was time for the party to begin!
When I noticed it start to rain, I pulled Justine and Tim outside for my favourite backlit rainy night shot before it was time for me, too, to join the party!
Justine and Tim’s entire day was magical from start to finish, and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to capture their amazingly perfect day <3
